- Raymond, who succeeded his father as Raymond VI, Count
of Toulouse
- Baldwin, who would subsequently take the part of the
French crusaders against his own brother.
- Adelaide, who married Roger II Trencavel
  Raymond
V was implicated in the gathering Cathar crisis. In 1176,
Guilhem the Bishop of Albi organised the council of Lombers,
attended by both clerics and local rulers, including Raymond
V, and his wife Constance, Raymond Trencavel, and the representatives
of the Cathars. The crisis later developed into the Albigensian
Crusade directed by the Roman Church against the Cathars
of the Languedoc
Raymond V's second wife was Richilde, widow of Ramon Berenguer
III, Count of Provence.

Raymond V, like other Counts of Toulouse, is remembered
with affection and respect by the people of the Languedoc
and especially the citizens of Toulouse. This plaque
on the right reads:
On 6th January 1189 by a
solemn Act Raymond V Count of Toulouse confirmed
to the Capitouls, representatives of the people
of the town, the liberties which founded the independence
of the municipality of Toulouse.
