Buying Property in the Languedoc: Other Considerations, termites and earthquakes

Termites. Vendors are now required to certify that the property is free of termites.

Earthquakes. The Pyrenees are still evolving as techtonic plate movements continue. The Languedoc-Roussillon is near enough to be affected, and in areas in the South there is a small but real risk of earthquakes. One occured just a few years ago, its epicentre near St-Paul des Fenouilledès in the Roussilon.
