The region's Mediteranean Climate - with its combination of wind and sun - makes Languedoc-Roussillon one of the best places in Europe for windsurfing.   The Mediterranean Sea provides a challenge, while the shallow waters of the lagoons provide a safe haven for windsurfing all-year-round.

Sudwind Sports. The St.Pierre-la-Mer sailing centre has been catering for windsurfing for many years. It has recently introduced a new beginner/improver wide style boards and lighter sails. At the centre you will find: a super-safe salt water lake "Etang de Pissevaches"; the Mediterranean Sea at your doorstep; a club house with toilets, showers and refreshments; courses and private lessons for all levels in English and French, recognised by the FFV (Fédération Française de Voile - the French sailing governing body); and safety cover. For more advanced windsurfers the centre has limited equipment. Please contact them in advance with your requirements and they will do their best to help. If you take your own equipment they can provide storage, lessons and also information on a safari of the best spots in the area.
