Flying.  There are lots of small local airports.  Easy to find as they are marked on any decent map. learn to fly at The Flight Training Centre. Full time qualifications & ratings courses for adults and 10-14 year olds can have a flight initiation course. Hot Air Ballooning.  Try Rennes-les-Bains.  Be prepared to fly when the air is still: just after sunrise or late afternoon.
Contact One World Dreaming, a small family group whose passion is flying Hot Air Balloons. They fly a Hand Painted Cameron N-90 Balloon and a Firefly 105 Special Shape Lightbulb over 'Le Haute-Vallée de l'Aude', close to the Pyrenees, some 50 Km N.W of Perpignan in the South of France. As they say, 'La Montgolfière' is the best way to see this region. Flights mornings/evenings (weather permitting) for groups of 3 adults (or 2 adults and 2 children) lasting approximately one hour. Helicopters.  If you are tempted by the prospect of a helicopter trip, especially one over the "Cathar Castles", you may wish to consider that if you give way to that temptation then everyone else in the region will consider you to be a nouveau boor without any taste, judgement or consideration for others.

Parachuting. The Cercle Audoise de Parachutisme organise a week of display parachuting, each year, usually in May. Contact Monsieur Geron +33 (0)468 79 64 47.
